What they do

Founded by Jonah Adeyemi and Carla Espinoza.

Ascend puts an assistant in the hands of technicians who repair industrial equipment. It reads the manuals, the service history, and the photograph the technician just took, then suggests the next step in plain language.

The hard part was never the model. It was ingesting forty years of inconsistent documentation and making the answer trustworthy enough that a technician will follow it while standing on a ladder.

Why we invested
Jonah spent his twenties as a service engineer before he wrote software, and he could describe the job in a level of detail that no market report contains. We wrote the check on the strength of two customer calls we made ourselves.
